Add to Obsidian Daily Log from Anywhere using Actions for Obsidian and Keyboard Maestro
A few weeks back, I decided to go all Apple/iOS. I’ve been planning to write about it, but just haven’t felt motivated to write much of anything. Until now and I’m feeling a huge sense of accomplishment in both creating the shortcut and Keyboard Maestro automation and writing this up for you!
Why now? A series of wonderful events has transpired. The new Actions for Obsidian were released. I’ve also recently finished David Sparks’ (aka MacSparky) Shortcuts Field Guide and Keyboard Maestro Field Guide. Because of these two things, I’ve created something that I’ve wanted for a long time. It is a MacOS Shortcut (using the amazing new Actions for Obsidian) that is tied to Keyboard Maestro and will run from anywhere and allow me to add activity to my Obsidian Daily Note’s log. Sometimes it really is the littlest things that make all the difference. Here is how it works.
What you’ll need?
- An Obsidian Vault
- The Actions for Obsidian App from the Mac App Store
- Keyboard Maestro
Note 1: If you don’t want to use Keyboard Maestro, you can use this just using MacOS but you’ll have to do a work around every time you want to run it…and you should have Keyboard Maestro anyway —…
