After reading both this and your article on the Everyday Notebook, I'm a little confused as to whether they are the same or if they are different. I felt in the Everyday Notebook that they were different, but the this article made me feel like they were the same? And what do you put on Index cards? Or is that just what the author did who inspired you? Like you I've kept notebooks for years - I find my current process of switching around between bullet journal, formal planner, plain notebook when I tire of one utterly frustrating and annoying and unproductive and I'm drawn to this idea of one notebook for capture and one notebook that you process captured stuff into. Just trying to get a better handle on your process.
