Bring your notes even more life with the Google Photos Plugin for Obsidian
It’s often the little things in life that bring us the most joy. In this article and accompanying video, I want to walk you through how to set up and use an Obsidian Plugin that is bringing me great joy in how it allows me to both streamline my existing workflows and build new workflows that might have previously been too arduous.
In Eleanor Konik’s most recent Obsidian Roundup, I was excited to there is now a plugin for Obsidian that allows you to easily add your Google Photos to your notes.
I have a lot of workflows where I already add photos to notes such as uploading photos of user manual pages to my house page in my Obsidian vault or adding photos of people to their respective pages in my vault. However, before the plugin, which is made by Alan Grainger, adding any photo was always a multi-step process that involved downloading and re-uploading. But now, through the power of the plugin, I can easily add photos of a new recipe I’m testing, photos to my daily journal pages, and more. It’s just that easy now thanks to this plug in. Let’s dive in and see how it works. If you’d like to watch this as a video, just scroll to the bottom of the article where you can see a video walk through of these steps.
