I finished listening to The Path Made Clear: Discovering Your Life’s Direction and Purpose which is narrated/hosted by Oprah Winfrey and includes segments from her interviews on Super Soul Sunday. The book is an absolute delight on audio and it’s only about 3 hours long which is a perfect commitment.

There are a number of wonderful moments in the book. I chose to focus on this one today for two reasons:

  1. I am building out a cohort based coaching program that I’m planning to launch in May — this concept and some exercises around it are definitely going to be in that program.
  2. I am focusing on finance and accounting systems for my business and my personal life since April is Financial Literacy month. I’ll be writing quite a bit about money and finance — but also about our relationship to money and finance. I think this fits nicely in the relationship to money category.

A great place to start is to remember that you are not a number — you are not your salary. Oprah shared some stories on her early jobs in chapter 9 of the Path Made Clear. That is where she said, “I am not my salary.”
