My First Pass at a Mac/iOS only Software Stack

I recently made the switch from almost entirely Android/Windows to fully iOS/Mac. My current devices are an iPad (that was my iOS device pre this change), iPhone 14, Apple Watch Series 8, MacBook Air M2, and Mac mini. From a hardware perspective, I also have a Yeti Nano Blue microphone and two Dell 24” monitors hooked up to the Mac mini via a USB Dongle.

Here is the productivity stack:

Obsidian: I feel like this is pretty much the only thing in my life that hasn’t changed recently — although it is working so much better due to the automation I’ve already put in place and I’ve barely scratched the surface.

OmniFocus: While OmniFocus does now have a web app, it has long been a Mac/iOS only tool and the web app is as all web apps are — not that great. I’m slowly designing my own system in OmniFocus but it’s built in reviews and ability to do custom perspectives is amazing.

SetApp: I am making incredible use of tools in SetApp — and realizing a major cost savings over adopting these tools on their own. I’ve already begun using Bartender, Clean Shot, Hook, CleanMyMac, Ulysses, and Craft — and I’ve barely scratched the surface of all the tools available in this one subscription for many tools. Overall, I don’t like the subscription model but if you’re going to do it, this one actually makes…
