I listened to an episode of the Focused podcast with Mike Schmitz and Dave Sparks a few days ago.
In the episode, Mike Schmitz gave a passing mention to the “Review” Community Plugin in Obsidian. I hadn’t heard of this Plugin so I decided to give it a try. And, I think it’s got a lot of good use possibilities.
What does the plugin do?
The Review Community Plugin connects a note in your vault to a daily note of your choosing. There is no visible link placed in the current note but it does place a linked mention to the chosen day’s daily note. The plug in also places a link back to the the current note in a specified section in your daily note.
What do you need to do to use the plugin?
First of all, you must be using daily notes. I run daily notes using the Periodic Notes plug in but I suspect you could also use the core daily notes plug in just fine as well.
Second, you need to install the Natural Language Dates plug in. This is a great plugin to have anyway because it allows you to set dates using Natural Language like today or next Tuesday.
Finally, you need to install the Review plugin.
After you install the Review plugin, enable it and set your options. You will need to decide the heading you want to have all of your notes selected for review listed under.
I also set this to a hotkey of ctrl+shift+r so that I could easily fire a review addition from my keyboard. Two notes on this if you watch the video:
