The Jarvis and Captain’s Log of it All — Automations that make you feel like a superhero or your favorite starship captain

When I’m completely honest about what makes me want to take on automation projects, it’s really two things. First, I’m lazy. Second, I want someone like Jarvis to or the Starship’s computer to assist in my life.

Hey Siri … What’s on the calendar today?

I’m nowhere near Jarvis or the Starship computer yet, but I do have a couple of automations that talk to me and that I talk to. They put a smile on my face every time I trigger them.

The first is super simple. It simply looks at my calendar for today and tells me what is on it. I usually trigger this one from bed before my feet even hit the floor. It goes something like this…

Me: Hey Siri

Siri: Uh huh

Me: What’s on the calendar today?

Siri: (Reads list of all items from my calendar)

Me: Ugh

Triggering the automation makes me happy. The output of the automation just reminds me of all I have to do that day 😜
