My sweet Kona in October of 2021 — age 9 months.

I LOVE DOGS.

My Kona has been with me for nearly one full year now. We are working hard at training and trying to become a certified therapy team so that we can volunteer in education and health care settings. We already do some of this as a hospice pet enrichment team.

My Facebook post from our first day of volunteering with hospice.

As we approach the one year anniversary of his “gotcha” day, I’m reflecting on all the things we’ve done together — and all the things I’ve purchased to make the process of dog ownership even happier and more enjoyable. I’ve spent lots but here are the items I recommend again and again to ever dog owner.

Poo Bag Flashlights

You will walk outside in the dark if you have a dog. A flashlight is always handy. Particularly at 2 a.m. when the new pup is still learning to sleep through the night.

We love these refillable bag holders with a flashlight inside of them. I’ve hooked one on every leash we own. Now, I’m never without a flashlight when I need one.
