Two things every digital note-taker should know before choosing the Apple Pencil
I’m an Android Gal at heart. I have a Samsung Tab and have used the Samsung Pencil for about two years.
Earlier this year, I was gifted an iPad and decided I had to try out the Apple Pencil. Even I can admit that the feeling of writing with an Apple Pencil is so much better than any Android based option I’ve tried.
I enjoy taking notes by hand in many circumstances — most often in meetings or classes where I’m going to be switching between drawings and written text frequently. Because these are frequent occurrences in my life, I now am using my iPad and pencil almost daily. I love the feel of paper and pen and still do use that every once in a while. The digital version gives me several great options that you just can’t easily get in Paper.
- Erase everything. If I screw something up, I can easily erase it — whether it was a highlight, a pen mark, or typed text. I’ve tried Frixion pens and highlighters and pencils but nothing matches the digital option.
- Carry loads of templates. I use a lot of different tools in my work from forms and worksheets to skills like sketching and typing. With the digital version I can pack loads of these with me neatly organized in folders and it weighs no more than my iPad.
